Аннотация
Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine and metabolic disorder among women of reproductive age. In addition to reproductive dysfunction, PCOS is frequently associated with insulin resistance, hyperandrogenism, obesity, oxidative stress, and persistent low-grade systemic inflammation. Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the tooth-supporting tissues in which microbial dysbiosis interacts with an altered host immune-inflammatory response.
Increasing evidence suggests that PCOS and periodontitis may share several biological pathways, including systemic inflammation, impaired metabolic regulation, oxidative stress, and changes in immune responsiveness.
