Abstract
This article investigates the role of authentic materials in enhancing listening comprehension among English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. In contemporary language pedagogy, authentic audio materials—such as podcasts, interviews, films, news broadcasts, and everyday conversations—are widely recognized for their potential to expose learners to real-life language use. The study examines how these materials affect learners’ listening skills, motivation, and cultural awareness. Based on a review of theoretical and practical insights in applied linguistics, the article concludes that authentic materials significantly improve comprehension abilities, strengthen learner engagement, and contribute to a more meaningful language learning process.
