The methodological foundations of neopositivism, its influence on empirical research, and the scientific heritage of its main representatives, such as Paul Lazarsfeld and Robert K. Merton, are highlighted. The advantages and limitations of neopositivist sociology, as well as the critical approaches that have emerged against it, are also considered. The article serves as an important theoretical and practical basis for understanding the modern style of scientific sociology.
