Abstract
This article explores the etymological roots of phytonomic terms in both the English and Uzbek languages. Phytonomic terms refer to the names and classifications of plants, which are deeply influenced by linguistic and cultural factors. By examining these terms, the article highlights the historical, morphological, and semantic evolution of plant-related terminology in both languages. The study not only traces the linguistic origins of plant names but also compares the similarities and differences in how these names have developed in two different linguistic traditions: English and Uzbek. Through this comparison, the article aims to enrich the understanding of plant nomenclature in both languages.
