Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present the work of the modern and most popular Russian writer Evgeniy Germanovich Vodolazkin in the novel Aviator, written in the form of a diary. The article presents the author's innovative approach to the diary genre, which is compared with the classical classification of Elena Bogdanova in her scientific article Linguistic features of the diary genre. An attempt has been made to perform a structural-semiotic analysis of the novel by E.G. Vodolazkin’s “Aviator” from the point of view of archetypal plotology (meta-plot) and intertextual combinatorics: the writer’s original reminiscent techniques are analyzed. Literary and cinematic pretexts are identified, geopoetic accents in the organization of the chronotope are identified: toponyms “canonized” in the historical discourse of Russian literature; genre patterns of world literature, key motifs and symbols of the work.
