Abstract

Type II diabetes mellitus is closely associated with an increased prevalence and severity of periodontitis. Chronic hyperglycemia, impaired immune response, and microvascular dysfunction contribute to progressive periodontal tissue destruction and reduced effectiveness of conventional therapy. This study aimed to improve treatment outcomes of periodontitis in patients with type II diabetes mellitus by applying comprehensive and pathogenetically justified therapeutic approaches. Clinical assessment revealed that optimized periodontal management significantly reduced inflammation, improved periodontal tissue condition, and stabilized clinical parameters. These findings highlight the importance of individualized treatment strategies that consider both systemic metabolic status and local periodontal conditions to enhance oral health and overall quality of life in diabetic patients.
